Overview
:
IT Enabled Services broadly cover all manpower intensive activities,
which are repetitive in nature and can be outsourced with
the help of information technology. These services are provided
in every element of the value chain of a business and can
be classified into different areas based on the required skill
sets of the process agents which are enumerated below.
The Nasscom-McKinsey report predicts global
market for IT-enabled services to be over $142 billion by
2008 based on the cost of procurement of these services from
low cost destinations such as India. This indicates a savings
of $390 billion of the current cost ($532 billion) of all
business elements with remote location potential.
